Connecting your site

Connecting your site is one free plugin and one approval. You install the MemberPress.ai Connect plugin, click Connect, and approve once on MemberPress.ai. MemberPress.ai then installs everything else on your site — the free MemberPress plugin if it isn’t already there, and the MemberPress AI Foundation plugin.

The connect flow

1. Download the free Connect plugin from the connect page. In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload it, and activate it.
2. In wp-admin, click Connect to MemberPress.ai. You’re sent to MemberPress.ai’s app to approve one screen that names exactly what will be installed. Nothing is installed until you approve it.
3. You return to your site, which receives a scoped connection token — your password never leaves your site.
4. MemberPress.ai sends your site a signed install command. Your site fetches the signed release, checks its signature, and installs the MemberPress AI Foundation plugin (and free MemberPress first, if it’s missing).

That’s it — no licence keys, and nothing is ever pulled into wp-admin by a button; only your approval on MemberPress.ai triggers an install. The Connect plugin is useful on its own too: it shows your connection status and links to your MemberPress.ai dashboard.

The two doors

There are two ways in, and both end at the same place:

• Hosted assistant (the flagship, touchless door). You let MemberPress.ai set the site up for you by conversation. This is the simplest path if you’d rather not touch wp-admin.
• Bring your own AI client. You connect your own Claude or ChatGPT to your site’s MCP endpoint and drive it from there. See Using your own AI client.

After you connect
